Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained from Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix displayed a knack for sports early in her life, and discovered her talent for sprinting when she attended Los Angeles Baptist High School. After only 10 weeks after her initial attempt, she was second in the 200 meter sprint at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school and signed a professional deal with the sports company Adidas after which she enrolled in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. In 2004, Felix won the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking a junior world record by running 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title in 2007, defeating her time-tested Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top 3 in all her competitions.
